Artifact aventure is like the best of 8-16 bit dragon quest striped down to the core, gaining freedom of choice (obscure - and consequences), challenge (and death or you can litterally give up on your quest).Rapid game progression, sane random encounter rate, 8bit glory. All in iron man modeThe worst so far is granting unique magic abilities to mana-devoid characters. What a waste, and very little clue to avoid it.Full of fun otherwise.I love it.. Amazing game. A few minor bugs/glitches and slightly unclear game mechanics but an absolutely great example of an RPG.. Awesome. It says Ive played for 1 hour only but Ive played for 3 hours and am hooked. Dragon Warrior III/IV are probably my favorite RPGs of all time and this game feels really similar. I love this goddamned game so much. I'm a sucker for classic RPGs so I usually get suckered in by garbage ones that get released on Steam and even meme-ish games like Breath of Death and Cthulu Saves the World (I actually like both of these) and my biggest gripe with these types of games is that at the end of the day when all the memes are over the games just don't have that much substance to them.That being said, Artifact Adventure is the ultimate combination of old-school and modern RPGs and one of the best RPG Maker games I've played. I won't go into too much detail but I love seeing the simple design from classic JRPGs working seamlessly with modern game mechanics such as decision-based progression, morality, immense character customization and a boatload of secrets to discover. I don't know if the devs really put their all into the game or if they just wanted to cash in on the retro gaming fad, but regardless they made a great game that any classic JRPG fan will love.
